Thank you for making the choice to audition for the first-ever Williamsburg’s Got Talent (WGT)! WGT is proudly sponsored by Chesapeake Bank, Colonial Heritage, Howell Creative Group, and the Tide, WYDaily and BachFM, and is a fundraiser to benefit the Williamsburg Land Conservancy. The Conservancy is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving significant natural, scenic, agricultural and historic land in the James and York River watersheds.
Here’s how the event will work. Auditions will be held and a total of 10 acts will be chosen to participate in WGT, scheduled for Saturday, November 19th, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Heritage. Nine of the 10 spots will be chosen from the two auditions. The final act will be chosen from YouTube submissions (see details in Rules document).
On November 19th a panel of local celebrity judges will be on hand to choose the winning act. Tickets will be sold to attend the event, and we anticipate a full audience will be on hand to cheer on the participants. First place prize includes a coveted trophy, an interview by Davis Media, which may be a WYDaily story, video, an on-air interview, or any combination of these, along with other local press coverage.
