Rock the Block served as the backdrop for the Conservancy to recognize area schools and organizations that implemented conservation activities during the 2008-2009 school year. This year’s Celebrating Conservancy recipients included: Boy Scout Troop #103; Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School; D.J. Montague Elementary School; Jamestown 4-H Center; James Blair Middle School; Jamestown High School; James River Elementary School; Lafayette High School; Matoaka Elementary School; Matthew Whaley Elementary School; Norge Elementary School; Queens Lake Middle School; Rawls Byrd Elementary School; Stonehouse Elementary School; Waller Mill Elementary School; Warhill High School; Williamsburg Christian Academy; and Williamsburg Montessori School.
